Oakland Rebels High School Student Athlete 4.0 GPA
by Melvin Landry posted 03/15/2015

It is always a great accomplishment for our students to exceed both academically and on the court. Samuel Vaughn Jr. (Sammy) has been apart of the Oakland Rebels program since the 7th grade and is now a 10th grader.

For the entire fall semester Sammy maintained a 4.0 GPA and now this spring continues to maintain a 4.0 GPA. He was recognized by the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and the American Youth Foundation (AYF) for his academic achievements.  He is also currently on the Mission Bears Varsity Basketball Team the Triple A high school boys varsity champions.   With so much negativity being reported about our young black teens Sammy is beating the odds and has a great future ahead of him.
